Henna is a plant that is turned into a dye that can be applied to the skin, hair and materials such as wool, silk and leather. Henna traditionally was applied on young woman to adorn them for special occasions like marriages, festivals and holidays. They are usually applied to the hands, feet and belly of a pregnant woman. Henna can come in different forms, as a paste or as a powder.

Henna can be found in any Indian or Middle Eastern grocery. If there is no Indian or Middle Eastern grocery around you can buy them online. A good place to look at to buy Henna is on Ebay.
Just be wary that in the US the law prohibits the use on Henna on the skin. The only reason why the import Henna is to use for dying the hair. But if a person is caught using henna on the skin they are rarely persecuted.
